Congrats To Greg P

Sun’s CTO, Greg Papadopoulos is now blogging. Congrats!. A great first blog on OpenSolaris.

Jim Grisanzio flags a Peter Gali story which uses quotes from the blog. (Blogging again shrinks time to news while expanding the reach). Unfortunately Peter also juxtaposes them to older quotes form Linus Torvalds. While there is nothing fundamentally wrong with this – afterall, what is on the record is on the record and is open to contrast. What is wrong is that there is no reference to the timing or origin of the quote, thus creating a false impression that the two are debating. Same goes for the HP quotes he uses. Good catch by Jimmy G.

So much for transparency.
