Interesting story in BusinessWeek on the transformation underway at Dell. Largely on the mark although somewhat bizarrely mainly focuses on consumer – a smaller part of Dell’s business than Large Enterprise and Public.

I’m on a flight (with wifi) from Chicago to SFO. AA. Tracy, the flight attendant up front is happy and keen to make the trip a good one. She is the only happy AA flight attendant I have encountered in the last 100,000 miles. Someone at AA ought to give her some encouragement… maybe it will spread…
Leading at Facebook…
Really liked this story on Mark Z at Facebook. A great model for Entrepreneurs. The notion that as a company scales, so must the leadership. They either need to grow as quick as the business or grow elsewhere.
“Every six months, he can upgrade every role in the company,” said one employee about Zuckerberg, requesting anonymity. “That’s true for Gideon Yu, it’s even true for [COO Sheryl] Sandberg.”
The idea of growing at the same pace – or preferably faster pace, than the company is a powerful one.
